{"id":173,"date":"2011-05-27T00:05:07","date_gmt":"2011-05-27T03:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ejitech.com\/howtosavemoney\/?page_id=173"},"modified":"2014-01-18T07:37:28","modified_gmt":"2014-01-18T10:37:28","slug":"off-the-grid","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ejitech.com\/howtosavemoney\/off-the-grid","title":{"rendered":"Renewable Energy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Living Off the Grid.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have a co-worker who has taking the less traveled path by living off the grid.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, he gets his electricity from solar cells connected to a battery bank, a small wind turbine and when he needs to run an appliance or equipment that draws a lot of power, he uses a propane generator.<\/p>\n<p>He gets his water from a well with the aid of an electric pump that delivers the water to the house.\u00a0 With this setup, he is able to save a significant amount of money each year when compared to those of us that live in the city and are on the grid.
