{"id":1024,"date":"2014-02-28T05:31:53","date_gmt":"2014-02-28T09:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ejitech.com\/howtosavemoney\/?page_id=1024"},"modified":"2016-10-03T03:41:11","modified_gmt":"2016-10-03T07:41:11","slug":"letter","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ejitech.com\/howtosavemoney\/letter","title":{"rendered":"Letter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Children\u2019s Future<\/p>\n<p>I write this letter to everyone to express a growing concern about the future of our kids because many of them do not understand the concept of basic money management.<\/p>\n<p>Statistic Canada survey shows the average Canadian family today owe $1.60 for every $1 earned.\u00a0 I am concerned that our kids will grow up without basic money management skills necessary to help them live within their means.<\/p>\n<p>We can either sit back and do nothing or step up and change everything.<\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><!-- Letter --> <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 468px; height: 60px;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8665362283969338\" data-ad-slot=\"4005659172\"><\/ins><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[ (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \/\/ ]]><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I have made a choice to positively influence the future of our children by teaching them how to be better with their money.<\/p>\n<p>I already have a platform, a system and training content.\u00a0 I am regularly invited to high-schools in HRM to present a workshop about \u201clife after high-school\u201d\u00a0 (details at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ejitech.com\/howtosavemoney\/seminar\">www.ejitech.com\/howtosavemoney\/seminar<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>My presentation to kids is about more than money. It includes interactive discussions on:<\/p>\n<p>* Showing appreciation for others.<\/p>\n<p>* Respect for self.<\/p>\n<p>* Confidence in their abilities and future.<\/p>\n<p>* Money Smarts.<\/p>\n<p>* The importance of being themselves.<\/p>\n<p>* The value of education.<\/p>\n<p>* Self control.<\/p>\n<p>* Proper use of technology, especially social media.<\/p>\n<p>* Power of dreaming and goal setting.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is I can only speak at one school a month because I use my vacation leave and only have so much to spare.<\/p>\n<p>This letter is to call on everyone to figure out ways to get the message to more students and more schools.<\/p>\n<p>I watch each year as we all rally together behind Canada during world sporting event.
